when on the mains all the time it will run off the battery and the battery will just get charged constantly and will not run of the main power. remove the battery and run of mains and check * +

http://safemanuals.com/references.php try here i found a pdf for the L450D but there are a few models and i couldnt get a complete identifaction but what i did find is that no led on the system leds should glow red they are supposed to be either green yellow or white. * +

@ jyeetkak would u recommend i take out battery when using it in the house for long periods of time as the guy that repairs them in pc world where i just bought it said it makes no diff if the battery is in or not as when connected to mains all the time the batt will charge then laptop will run of mains . * +

it makes no diff to the battery if you use it on the mains only *
