i lookd up at google on how to fix a hdd that has sum problems and i bumped on to a site wer they said u should bang it on the floor a cuple of times than it wil come back, so i did bang it as they said and mayb i bangd it 2hard coz the hdd cant even be read now by the system. any help please b4 i give it the hammer? * +

If it was making some sort of scratchy noise, that only means the READ/WRITE heads are off. And I can tell you that it's dead. You may gladly trash it away. The only time you can bump an HDD is when the motor that controls the READ/WRITE arms is jammed. * +
