Me and my mate are having the same problem with usb 2 devices when we click on remove device its says its safe to take it out of the pc but the light is still on and if we do then it corrupts it the only way to take it out is to shut down the pc the device in system under the usb there is a yellow triangle with ! In it has any 1 else had this problem and have you been able to fix it *

Right click on device in explorer then set it up 4 quick removal *
