Pc keeps restartating everytime it gets to the icons screen. Its xp pk3 and working fine this morning, havent got start up disk and tried safe mode but still does it grr * +

enter bios and load up the fail safe defaults and reboot. if it works then go back to bios and load optomised defaults. and reboot. if it dosent work on eather then its a software issue, try using a restore point prior to this morning * +

Tried the fail safe settings jay and it didnt alter. Been searching for ages on mini opera for ideas as pulling hair out lol * +

Done a scan other night barns with asquared and avg, its all clear. Could it be the mobo? As double chk ram and cards. * +

when u said 'icons screen' u meant desktop? Did u hear any beeping sounds when u booted the com? * +

Fail Safe wont work because it's only for the PC Mobo, RAM wateva. Whats wrong is that Windows is messed up. Normally it's caused by a virus. Boot in Safe Mode and see if it works. Than restore your computer using System Restore. And if it doesn't boot in safe mode let us know. * +

Yeah desktop lol normal beep and loads but gets to desktop page, bout 2 seconds then restarts grr * +
