My pc reads my cpu as a 1.6ghz in bios and p.o.s.t. but its a 2.8ghz dual core. I set my dvd writer to burn at 16x speed but it goes between 7x-11x. My power supply is a 300watt and is powering 3 hard drives, 9600GT gfx card, Dvd writer, cpu ect. Is it sufficient and could it be the prob causing this * +

thats why your bios is reading the cpu wrong speeds cause theres not enough power going to the cpu you need more power just upgrade that psu * +
