I brought the toshiba l500 1cq it says it has 250 hard drive space but when i look into my computer its got this drive c 96.6gb free of 116gb and drive d is the recovery thats 110gb free of 116gb so how can my laptop be 250gig on the hard drive * +

look on the hard drive for jumpers cause if there set wrong they can limit the amount of space you have correct them and should be fine * +

jason your hard drive is split into two partitions, as i said earlier add both sizes together and what do you get? * +

It's a binary thing which I can't be arsed to explain, plus there's resered space for your recycle bin, other user's 'My Documents' aaaaand probably other stuff. * +

Probably a good idea to back up anything important before you merge your partitions though. *
