Hdd will give unmountable boot etc plus smart complains long b4 hdd do. Can you acess safemode? If not pop in windows disk. Recovery console chkdsk /r then fixmbr then fixboot then reboot. If it still presist its a driver. Let me know if it fixed your problem * +

the error refers to registy corruption 1 or more registy hives is corrupted. system restore is the easiest way to recover from it, if you have some valid restore points try them. * +

finally managed to get it to boot into safe mode and hit a system restore and its done the trick thanks jay and everyone else ya all have been most helpfull *
