my mobo is ASUS P5KPL-CM. it says in the manaul that it supports DDR 1066 (overclock) RAM . i just wanted to know wat exactly iks this DDR2 1066 RAM cos i think DDR2 comes wid either 667 mhz or 800 mhz. also plz tell me if my mobo supports DDR3 memory. * +

No ur mobo doesnt support ddr3 its ddr2 1066 that works on ur board.pc-8500 * +

ddr2 can exceed the original spec to manage speeds like 1066. but usually this means the voltage is often wildly out of spec too lol. originally ddr2 was set at a max of 1.8v, but time passed and memory manufacturers pushed way over this limit for higher speeds. all it means is your board is properly rated for extra fast ddr2 memory * +

just make sure you got ram voltage adjustment cause if not and they try and boot spd settings and they take say2.1 it may not boot unless you set it before changing ram * +
