the master password is only avalible if you have origonal ownership of the laptop . if its stollen you have no hope . * +

dell will not give it to you unless you can prove the laptop is yours ,which means proof of purchase. * +

no im not if you can go to dell customer care yes you dont have to but if you cant dell is the only ones to get it from the chip. if you do it yourself you need to desolder the rv chip on one side let it make contact just after it boot and let the connection go it will reset the hole d*mn thing but you need to know your soldering * +

On some Dell laptops you just have to enter ''dell'' as the master password. How do you know this wouldn't work for the pw? * +
