The heat sink on the center of my motherboard (not the one on the chip) gets d*mn hot and untouchable after a while.. I left the side of my case open and it doesnt get any cooler. Is that normal? * +

What reaction does ur pc brings, does it restart or act weir, do u have termal paste in your cpu? * +

make sure the heatsink fan is running at optimum speeds and no dust is clogged up between the fans cause that can cause it to overheat if the fan is full of dust hence the hot heatsink * +

No it has no fan. The pc runs fine. It jus gets too hot n makes my room get hot. Could the software be making it hot? All i knw is i got a g31 mobo. Xp home sp3 * +

i guess your on about your northbridge? yeah it will get hot. if your worried then maybe check out a NB cooler of get a small fan for it. * +

what clocks are you running the rig at. cpu, mem, northbridge multis. maybe you have a multi set wrong or you have overvolted sumthin unknowinly. try resetting your bios to optomised defaults. * +
