random restarts can be cause by a few things, virus (prefered as you can remove it) hardware fail, likley bad memory, swap the mem out 1 at a time and see if the problem persists. over heating cpu that cant throttle because throttling has been turned off in bios, lastly psu failing. * +

if the timings on the sticks differ to much they may become damaged over time and the classic pattern of random switchoffs happens. the reason is the mem controler has to work harder to keep the timings in check and this eventualy causes the ram to start leaking electrons as its working beyond its spec. 1s this happens it cant be repaired and you will need ne ram. * +

maybe the processor is getting hot has ur p4 3.6ghz is what i got and a 120mm fan cooling it down put some thermal paste on the cpu artic silver formula 5 and report back its about 10 pound but does the job without it thats what can cause restarts to stop the processor burning out * +
