I Recently recievd som audio tracks that hav had their extensionz changd 2 .mp3. Problem is th person that renamed them doesnt rememba th original format they where in b4. Is there Any way i cn fnd out wat th file 4mat waz b4, coz th tracks wont play... Thanx. * +

Am not whit my computer but i think go 2 this address: tools/folder option/advanced/ .then get ok 2 the box near this expression: hide flis type known....then u can see nd chang files format as rename. Bwin * +

If it s audio file then it mst hv extn like 1mp3,2.AAc.3.m4a,4.wma,5.oog,6,AMR.7wav change the file extension your self by simply renaming its extension and try to play it. It must work or you can use format factory.exe its free software to covert audio and video file. And it covert almost all files into proper audio and video format. * +

open then with notpad and the first couple of letters on the first line will tell you what format they are. google the first 3 letters you see and it should tell you what format its associated with. * +

open your file with applications such as nero wave editor or cool edit. if the there's a wave display, go to file, click save as, go to the bottom where you can rename the file name and change the format, choose another file format such as wma,aiff or wave to test if it will play. * +

gspot from klite mega codec pack should also tell u what ur dealing with.mplayer will identify your file and play it regardless of the extension * +
