i have a xfx 9600gt 256bit 512mb, 650mhz clk and 1800mhz mem, it sits at 48 to 51 degs celcius. it has a fan and heat sink on it. i hav a fan on my processor and one at the back of my tower ( ie the standard fans it comes with.) is this the normal idle temp? * +

yes thats about normal, you could knock a few degrees of it with a few more case fans if your case can take them. i modded my old case http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh314/jaymack71/airflow.jpg from the first image to the second * +

thats somthing i wouldnt recomend. fair enough if you payed 150 quid for the card and 30 for a 3rd party cooler, but on a 45 pound card nope not worth it. * +

120 degrees they throttle even 70 to 80 is alright when gaming. you dont need to keep temps that low on it * +
