Hi, I have no administrator Password. I like to have windows being able to go right to desktop after I press the on button. But will my pc be hackable when I connect to the internet and people know what my IP adress is? I am using a router and I did change its default password. Do you think I am in any danger? Tia * +

any body can look at your ip adress, but if you have a decent firewall the pc will be virtualy unhackable unless you let somthing through. the admin password is there to stop people accessing your machine on site not over the net. just turn off remote access and you will be safe from unwanted snooping as that is a security risk. * +

you need a good firewall, although windows comes with 1 it does have flaws, so try sumthing like online armor (it has a free version which is better than most) * +

a botnet can easily take hold of your PC if you are not carefully with security implementation.windows firewall is well known and programmers know how to bypass it. the same goes for antivirus heuristics. dont worry about an individual trying to hack you, beware about botnets. * +

u mean netbots? worms and trojans? basicaly malware. any thing can attack you on the net unless you surf with a big stick. so get the biggest you can find. ie. good antivirus, good firewall, good anti malitous software progal like avira, avast, kaspersky, online armor (if you dont get a full suit on yer av), malwarebytes, a-squared (if you go with avira or avast) * +
