yes you can u have to get the upgrade package. But heres the catch. If your hdd fails then you cant install win 7 straight as you dont have the key for it. Which means you need to install vista again and upgrade again. But theres one problem you have the key but not the oem disk. See the dilemma and fked up MS is. You can do a clean install with upgrade one google the trick * +

your oem is part of the legal package but most people who are honest and buys the stuff have to buy vista disk if theyre hdd fails and they have a oem disk. *
