im looking into getting me a hd pvr as multichoice no longer manufactures the sd pvr, my question is: will the hd pvr be compatible with my standard tube tv, the tv doesnt have a hd input?? * +

Yes. The HD pvr will work on non HD televisions...but you will not be reaping the full benefits of having an HD PVR. * +

Once you've got your HD PVR, you need to purchase the eye. Then the dstv guys will hook it up for you and connect it to the main decoder...and you will need to pay an extra fee of around R50 (its called extraview or dualview) * +
