at boot press delete a few times till it says entering bios, 1s in go to load optomised defaults. now go into advanced bios features/m.i.t/ or whtever the advanced menu is called on your board and go to the qpi setup. if your qpi reads anythin other than 4800 then select it and choose x36 from the sub menu of auto/ slow/x36/x48 exit and save , now reboot. * +

the 4800 is for i7 920/940 if you have a 965 or 975 then you should select x48 multiplyer giving 6.4 qpi * +

i know this sounds complex but realy its not. just do as i have said and the temps should fall back to normal. if not them maybe you should check the mounting of the cpu cooler. * +

btw you havent used any overclocking software in windows have you? if you have run it again but thistime select default settings of 2.66. save and reboot then uninstall it 1s the pc is back to normal. * +

i did it bro. I have the i7-920 processor. And i didnt oc the cpu. Lets see results now. * +

the temperature on start up is round to 52~55 but when i play any game or something it goes to 80~85. Is that normal? *
