Yesterday my laptop decided not to boot. When i turn it on i just get the usual options, last know configuration, safe mode etc but nothing works. I have xp and want to reinstall but when i go into the bios setup i am not given the option in the 1st boot device to boot from cd, what can i do? * +

Its a advent 7086. Yea can get boot menu up. * +

all i have got is a windows xp disk but it wont boot up. In the bios where you can change the order 'boot from cd' is not there * +
