the thing is that admitedly the i7 920 is an expencive cpu in your terms, but you can oc it and get exaclty the same performance out of it as the top of the rance 1000usd cpus saving you 700 usd, all you have done in real terms is save 50 usd with yer oc.. time to buy better parts and gain the performance you want and deserve. * +

my athlon 64 3000 venice core was a mean overclocker jay . best budget cpu of its generation .had mine clocked at 2.6ghz if i remember correctly . * +

the lower clocked AMD processors way back when were decent overclockers but intel just raised the bar well beyond AMD's reach. again it lies witht he fact intel are so much faster per clock that the percentage OC you can get is usually massive compared to AMD. Its very well saying an AMD could do 3ghz to 4ghz, as high as an intel but the intel is already as fast @ 2.4 as the AMD is at 3 * +

And Im still an AMD fan and still love the 12k I get in 3DMark06, despite all your objections. I really don't care. Oh and jay, I got my 'upgrade' when the 5-series was hardly out. And Im still happy. And AMD is STILL cheaper. IF you take into account similar-priced CPUs and their corresponding motherboards. Oh wait, there isn't a corresponding CPU/board vs the i7 cos its priced 4 the gods * +
