it will delete anything on the ipod if its not same itunes its synched wiv. but than any music on your pc already can than be put back on the ipod. @original post, install itunes, ipods require it. these are 2 reasons il never own a ipod lol * +

just put rockbox firmware on it. End of problem. That's what i did with mine. Never had to bother again with itune. Google rockbox the site will come up within the first couple of results. * +

you can just copy and paste music files over afterwards, like you would with a hard drive *
