I heard some one on talk sport today say that the premier league is the best in the world, but is it? i dont know if he meant best by tv audiences or by spending money on players or by having less violence but he said it was the best in the world. * +

Definition of 'the best' of what measurement is required. The English clubs just got caught out with the sending offs. They were never actually outplayed even by Bayern and Barcelona when the games were 11 v 11, were they? It was tight in the City game and Arsenal gave Bayern a lot to think about the first half hour. Not terrible considering those two are the best sides in their leagues and Arsenal are probably not the best side in England.

I do feel English clubs seem more pr*ne to getting red cards because of the way football is usually played over here versus referee expectations on the continent. * +

Barca was full strength and citeh were missing a finisher plus fernandinho was still struggling with injury. Barcelona would be having a hard time had city not got a man sent off. * +
