Number 9 shirt is usually considered a conventional striker. So a conventional lineup has the striker as just a striker. But a False 9 lineup has a player who is an attacker but doesn't play as a typical striker more like an attacker who is likely to drop into midfield to link with the other midfielders and pull defenders out of position.
