Probably because if true, his father was the one 'managing' and being a dodgy geezer like a bunch of them are. Messi is supposed to be on 35m euros a year from his wages and sponsors 4m is like a month and a bit wage * +

reminds me of steffi graff and her income tax machinations..she blamed it on her father who blamed it on his tax lawyer who blamed it on mr graff who then blamed it on his daughter who then claimed ignorance which led to commandant graff serving a few years in prison. *
