started more or less in same year via test cricket,ponting played more test,means more knocks to date.kallis scored more tons and the highest batting av.for a batsman in top 10 all-time leading run scorers in test.australians rate punter 2nd best only to bradman..so kallis is better than punter,facts and stats dont lie.both these batsman batted most of the time at 3 and faced same generation of bowlers,only diffs kallis faced the greatest spinner ever warne,and scored plenty,rememeber MCG?in my * +
