actually if its that bad that you cant guarantee it staying on you wont be able update it either as that depends on it staying on. are you positive you've successfully formatted the fone ? did it ask you to input which country you are in ? if yes then take it to a decent fone shop and get them to flash it for you or read up on phoenix and flash it yourself. * +

Check imei, probably sl3 corrupted, it had locked i think...time to take it to repair shop. * +
