First backup everything in mmc using phone itself remove memory card then use the sw updater its fast * +

wat fone is it ? most newer fones have the backup option under memory card in settings with boxes you tick for the things you wanna backup which shud include apps too. then update and restore. if it doesn't give the restore option then rename the backup file it puts on memory card and run another backup which you then delete and rename the 1st back again and restore. usually tho ota updates dont * +

wipe the fones memory clean because it only alter the parts of the firmware thats changed. but its better to be safe than sorry etc etc. * +

have a look under file manager/memory card sorry, create backup and see wat options it gives you 1st off. * +
