Far worse than that. 3-key an N8 or, as in my case, a 701, and it takes out maps, Quickoffice, pdf, other bits and bobs. You can't reinstall any of these or Nokia Store, so you have to reinstall the whole OS. Exactly what I've had to send my phone off for amongst other things. * +

Hard format is when ur phone asks u to set in ur country, date and time... And only 3keys do this always, 7380 very rarely, also ive never lost any default apps, QO u need to update it to latest crack.. * +

When i am doing hard format i do both trick and if you want to do a soft format go into C Private 10202be9 and delete that folder and then restart phone and you will see enter country and time. * +
