yes it is and you've pretty much said how yourself. only problem is, you have a reason that you want to format and in creating a backup of your c drive you'd also be backingup the problem you have aswell . . * +

He cud backup only drive E, in which case only apps/games installed in memcard cud be saved, but not all wod function as there are apps/games that install some of their components in C... * +

like most java apps and games.. But i did suggest him to get those installers and install them using autoinstaller. *
