Dear friends, my bro have a n 97 (vodafone)which was bought second hand.it had a problem of restarting about 4 times per day. He had given it to his friends phone repairing center and he had flashed it to the latest generic fw. And prob was solved. But unfortunately its keyboard layout had changed. Earlier its fw had QWERTZ layout which is same as its physical keypad layout but now it has QWERTY format which is different from its physical key pad. Now two letters (y and z) and some symbols * +

..your bro's friend from repairing center has changed phone's product code to carry out flashing..now it may be a bit tricky to find right (another one) corresponding keboard layout/input product code and (if lucky to find) then reflash the phone again..( I assume now may be difficult to go back to old product code and downgrade fw,so search for some mainly German lang talking countries, lng pack) * +

.. and use such product code to try to reflash the phone, but beware to be sure it'll bring the same fw as it is now..tricky,not to brick the phone, lol * +

Look on the sticker under the battery and you'll know which countries voda fw it was atleast and give you an idea of as nokstern says of which language pack version 2 look for again but in generic. pop the number under battery into google with n97 product code along with it. * +
