Hi. I'm getting my N8 tommorow and i was wondering if there was any way i could transfer specifically my inbox smses aswell as mmses and notes. I don't care much about the apps and the rest of the data. * +

There are several ways....1. If u have another nokia phone, use the Phone setup in ur N8, if u have a pc backup ur data via ovi suite, notes cud be transferred via bt too, ... * +

Thanks for the reply, Datutm! Yes, i want to transfer all my inbox smses and mmses from my nokia n95-8gb to the N8. Will i find an existing application or utillity that will allow me to transfer or retreive the smses and mmses on the n8? * +

You can do that directly. Just go to the default file exporer of ur old phone. Then select backup. Then in the backup options select messages and backup. Then put your mmc into your n8 and from the default file manager select backup then in the options select restore. Done .. * +

Thanks guys! Much appreciated! I did a full phone backup on my pc with nokia pc suite just now, but the last time i did a backup for both phone memory and memorycard, it didn't back any of my messages up eventhough it said it did. I'll give the phone switch application a try tommorow. Thanks again! * +

dont use pc suite, use ovi suite for backup.. *
