Most phones use ARM, except those based on Qualcomm chipsets. * +

They were running Windows 8 on ARM chipsets, it'll initially be aimed at the burgeoning slate/tablet market, but should eventually make it into most 'smart'phones. From what I understand the term is SOC (system on a chip) and I guess ultimately the only restrictions would be screen resolution and battery life. * +

This is only for Netbooks and Tablets. Microsoft would not restrict its Operating System to Intel Architecture only. We will eventually see cheaper Netbooks. And it has got nothing to do with the phones as Microsoft already has Windows Phone 7 os for Smartphones. *
