Hey Friends, can anyone please tell me which edition of Symbian platform is better, v5 or v3? And if it's v5 then why all new Nokia phones are with S60v3? * +

from what i understand is that v3 refers to the keypad type of s60 while v5 is the touch screen ones. * +

That means, v3 also can run v5 apps, and no any difference, but some new touchscreen devices run on S60v3. C6-00 runs on S60v5 while C6-01 having touchscreen runs on S60v3. Can't understand this. * +

ok s60v3 was most current then nokia needed to get touch screen out there so the had s60v5 pretty much the same as v3 but with touch. Symbian 3 is now a more clearer way for them to have there phones, rather than s60v5 os9.whatever and so one. I think anything s60v3 and v5 will be referee to as symbian 1 * +
