from what i'v heard the overall sound and voice record sound is very low on handset's like 6500slide and 6300. is there any decent s40 that's good for both voice recording sound and when u play any videos or track's? * +

I suggest nokia6270 for loud and clear sound it produce it's my personal view. Or. When you login their is menu called extra's select it and a page will come select the link mobilearena and see for your self ..or goto Www.fonearena.com .... Or goto your nearest mobile shop see for your self..... If s40 did not satisfy your sounding needs opt for a china phone with 8 speakers

i only thought s40 be ideal cause alot of s60's leave your wallet empty 
sometimes they over 300pound's on pay as u go. thank's dude i'll check about that handset u mention. * +

The sound quality on a nokia 5000 is fantastic for an s40 phone. One of the speakers is at the back, so when your holding it, it uses your hand to enhance the sound. * +
