All s40 phone's are java phone. They run on java platform, not on any OS.... * +

S40 and s60 are two different operating software.... 
... I suggest 6270... If you have a good budget... And love music and video on the go... And if you with tight budget... You can have 6085... With basic camera and mp3 and ... Etc * +

Jupi y is s40 not considered as o.s.! Accord to me Every electronic device which are interactive to user should have operating software to do so !

OS Refers to open source operating system symbian os has may source layers for multimedia,plug ins,codings etc also java me,while s40 runs basically on java so its platform. s60 s platform is symbian os while s40 s java * +
