Nooo...u cn change your backlight w/o buying a neW board.But u must let the expert do it coz its very complicated not lyk an ordinary phonez.. * +

Basically there is the rubber contact strip that must meet the contacts on the glass and the contacts on the circuit board they must ALL match even when you put the screen back onto it's pad this is very difficult to do with only two hands, three would be ideal. * +

i remember when 1st started wap in 2002 with 3330,a green backlight. Then had 3510i and 6610i. White back light is dodgy as hek..Why why why dont they think of these things. A nice pleasent blue would be tops. Wats this nokia download called candlelight?Any1 tried it? Pm me if u have * +

Think some of you guys have read the original post wrong. Its not to change the backlight, its to change the time duration it actually stays lit up for. As far as i know you cant change it on some phone. Cant on 6230i, 6280 but can on n80 which is symbian if that makes a difference. Sorry i cant be more specific! * +
