Those are different platform names of phones... i.e. Most older nokia's are DCT3, DCT4 etc and newer ones are BB5..... * +

Yes... Those platform names are v important in terms of technical issues like flashing, formating, unlocking.... Every platform has different procedure to flash, unlock etc....... *
