If it is set at highest i.e 320kbps files of 5min tend to bulge till 9mb but quality is at top . When set at lower 60kbps files are too short but quality is cr*p. * +

128kbps is the most stable and standard bit rate for mobile phones and domestic appliances use.... The ratio of file size and the audio quality is maximum at this rate... But if you try to focus only on quality, 256kb and higher bit rate will give u more stable audio but size will be higher... * +

I personally hate the songs under 128kbps... In fact I dont keep any mp3 file under 128kb bit rate in my collection.... Coz, if you have a good headphone, you can easily note the difference in sound quality when it goes down under 128kbps... Specially the higher frequencies... Thats why 128kbps is considered as standard bit rate for mp3 files and most mp3 CD's comes with this bit rate... * +
