Not Christian or Jew or Muslim, not Hindu
Buddhist, sufi, or zen. Not any religion

or cultural system. I am not from the East
or the West, not out of the ocean or up

from the ground, not natural or ethereal, not
composed of elements at all. I do not exist,

am not an entity in this world or in the next,
did not descend from Adam and Eve or any

origin story. My place is placeless, a trace
of the traceless. - Rumi * +

A trace of the traceless :-) Be traceless, be Nothing, be Timeless, be a Lover. You'll have your answers.

Books, Scriptures can't provide us with answers. Remember what Shams said, the path to God is a Labour of the Heart. * +

I will give you the Word all the scriptures
Glorify Those in whose hearts OM reverberates
Unceasingly are indeed blessed
And deeply loved as one who is the Self.
The all-knowing Self was never born,
Nor will it die. Beyond cause and effect,
This Self is eternal and immutable.
When the body dies, the Self does not die. (86)
Of those unaware of the Self, some are born as
Embodied creatures while others remain
In a lower stage of evolution,
As determined by their own need for growth. (93) (Katha Upanishad)

In the beginning there was the Word...

OM, AUM and other Words/Sounds have deeper connotations.

When Shams says about The Music of the Universe being composed on forty different levels or when Rumi mentions the Water of Khidr from the stream: the speech of the Saints. :-) * +

The Mundaka Upanishad (Two Modes of Knowing) says :
''The Lord of Love is above name and form. He is present in all and transcends all.
This Upanishad continues :
''Bright but hidden, the Self dwells in the heart.
Everything that moves, breathes, opens, and closes
Lives in the Self. He is the source of love
And may be known through love but not through thought
He is the goal of life. Attain this goal! (112, 113) * +

Is it the Self by which we see, hear, smell, and taste,
Through which we speak in words? Is Self the mind
By which we perceive, direct, understand,
Know, remember, think, will, desire, and love?
These are but servants of the Self, who is
Pure consciousness. This Self is in all. (129-130 ~ ( Aitareya Upanishad (The Microcosm of Man)

Know the Self as lord of the chariot,
The body as the chariot itself,
The discriminating intellects as charioteer,
And the mind as reins.
The senses are the horses (88) ~( Katha Upanishad (Death as Teacher)) * +

0gypsy0 16.12.14 - 10:59pm
He is revealed only
To those who keep their mind one-pointed
On the Lord of Love and thus develop
A superconscious manner of knowing.
Meditation enables them to go beyond thoughts to wisdom in the Self. (89) ~ (Katha Upanishads)

Conscious spirit and unconscious matter
Both have existed since the dawn of time,
With maya appearing to connect them,
Misrepresenting joy as outside us.

When all these three are seen as one, the Self
Reveals his universal form and serves
As an instrument of the divine will.

All is change in the world of the senses,
But changeless is the supreme Lord of Love.
Meditate on him, be absorbed by him,
Wake up from this dream of separateness. (218) ~(Shvetashvatara Upanishad
(The Faces of God) * +

There are two kinds of intelligence: one acquired,
asa child in school memorizes facts and concepts
from books and from what the teacher says,
collecting information from the traditional sciences
as well as from the new sciences.

With such intelligence you rise in the world.
You get ranked ahead or behind others
in regard to your competence in retaining
information. You stroll with this intelligence
in and out of fields of knowledge, getting always more
marks on your preserving tablets.

There is another kind of tablet, one
already completed and preserved inside you.
A spring overflowing its springbox. A freshness
in the center of the chest. This other intelligence
does not turn yellow or stagnate. It's fluid,
and it doesn't move from outside to inside
through conduits of plumbing-learning.

This second knowing is a fountainhead
from within you, moving out. - Rumi * +
