The Syariah High Court judge also ordered the body, that was taken by the state religious authority on Monday, to be given back to the family. This was after the Syariah High Court here earlier declared that Cheng Cheng, whose body was carted away by the Penang Islamic Religious Department (JAIPP) officers on Monday, was not a Muslim convert. The religious enforcement officers took her body away just minutes before it was to be taken on a traditional Chinese procession to the Batu Gantung United Hokkien Cemetery for cremation.

The sn*tching of the body came a week after a wedding was raided and the bride arrested as the religious authority claimed she was muslim and stopped her marrying her hindu husband to be. * +

She and her mother, believed to be Hindu, are being investigated under Section 10 of the Shariah Criminal Enactment (Selangor) 1995, for insulting or bringing disrepute to Islam. I'd say the ones bringing Islam into disrepute are the ones enforcing a law that says muslims cannot marry non-muslims and the ones falsifying conversion documentation.
