1-3 are about the rejection of Christ.
Isaiah 53
English Standard Version (ESV)
53 Who has believed what he has heard from us?[a]
And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
2 For he grew up before him like a young plant,
and like a root out of dry ground;
he had no form or majesty that we should look at him,
and no beauty that we should desire him.
3 He was despised and rejected by men;
a man of sorrows,[c] and acquainted with[d] grief;[e]
and as one from whom men hide their faces[f]
he was despised, and we esteemed him not. * +
manszar 1.06.14 - 08:35am
again this says nothing about this being the messiah. only some poor ugly man who was despised and rejected, a man full of sorrow and grief, who men would avoid by not wanting to look at him. a man who had no respect. god made his soul an offering for sin. yet we have in 2 Peter 1:16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. * +
manszar 1.06.14 - 08:48am
