Anybody seen the latest film version thats currently at the cinemas? A very interesting and different take on the biblical story/event. I felt that some of it was more akin to old folklore and ancient legends than the biblical portrayal of noah and his amazing journey with the ark. what are your thoughts on the very different take on the story? And do you think the film gave a more truer representation of the legend than the bible or other religious works does? (chin) * +

Aronofsky out did himself, movie was epic, only thing he got right was the portrayal of the ark, as a big rectangular box, than others who make it look boat-like, that aside it was way way waaay off the Biblical version * +

That big rectangular box is in no way sea worthy. * +

it wasn't meant to be sea worthy, no sails or radar, it was designed to stay afloat, like a log of wood * +

Big wooden boats that size dont just bob around in the ocean. And yes it had to be sea worthy, there was nothing but sea. And as it allegedly carved out all the mountains and what not one would assume fairly turbulent seas. The shape and size is physically impossible. * +

not boat, ark, it means box, flat bottomed, aside from the ark of the covenant, (the word is used only one other time to describe the placement Moses was in as a baby to escape), bob about is exactly what is meant to do * +
