Found this view of the Islamic hudud law. ... (The Sun Daily) - A group representing Muslim physicians has defied the Health Ministry and Malaysian Medical Association on the hudud issue, saying that its members will amputate limbs in the most humane manner possible. * +

Really? What in satan's name is the meaning of 'amputate limbs in the most humane manner possible'? So will the Muslim physicians also stone adulterers to death in the most humane manner? Maybe a Muslim anaesthitist will administer anaesthesia so that the adulterers will not feel the pain of stoning. In Saudi Arabia they behead people. Is there a 'most humane manner' of beheading anyone? Shouldnt there be one method as well? Can you imagine surgically removing a person's head. * +

Pertubuhan Ikram Malaysia president Dr Mohammed Fauzi Abdul Rani said syariah law mandates Muslim physicians to perform the surgical procedure as instructed by syariah courts and as such, Muslim physicians must abide by it. * +

Well first of all the physicians must satisfy themselves if these laws come from Allah. Are these really the laws of Allah? Or are they man made laws of feqah (theologians). The hudud of Pas differs from the hudud of other sects. So are these really the laws of Allah? There is no such thing as a fully written down, complete set of shariah laws anywhere in over 1400 years of Islamic history. Why? * +

The Muslim physicians must read the Quran first. The Quran says : Surah 17:36 You shall not accept any information, unless you verify it for yourself. I have given you the hearing, the eyesight, and the brain, and you are responsible for using them. So who told you that the hudud is from Allah? Have you checked it thoroughly? * +

On the Hippocratic Oath where physicians are expected to do no harm (primum non nocere), he said Muslim doctors are not doing any harm to a criminal who has transgressed the boundaries of social justice and has to undergo a punishment prescribed by Islamic law. These crimes (theft, fornication, adultery, alcohol consumption and apostasy) which threaten the social and moral order are seen as transgressing the limits set by God Himself and thus have punishments mandated in the Quran. * +

There is absolutely no punishment mandated in the Quran for alchohol consumption and apostasy. In the Quran there is no verse that says alchohol is haram. If anyone of you can find the verse in the Quran where the word haram is used for alchohol, then please share it here. In 27 years I have not found such a verse. There is no punishment of stoning to death in the Quran either. The punishment of stoning people to death is found in the old Jewish Old Testament. * +
