I again repeat, it's not possible to discuss moral degeneration with someone who is living by different rules. What you prioritize, someone else might not. From a Christian perspective, the number of people who actually still go to church, in eg, England, is 6 percent. If you evaluate life through a Christian perspective, it is moral degeneration. If you are Richard Dawkins, it is moral enlightenment. The term degeneration cannot really add anything to the discussion. * +

Who says an atheist can't take values from someone, say Jesus for instance - 'Do unto others as they would do unto you.' - take that and then just ignore the fact that he sp*wned a world wide religious following? Maybe Jesus never wanted to have a religion based on him. Maybe he was just a teacher and some people took things a little too far because they wanted to belong to an exclusive 'holier than thou' club. *
