Mohammad (pbuh) was a servant, worshipper and messenger of god, just as Moses, Jesus, Noah, Abraham etc. were...When we say intermediary we mean such a person or thing wich is worshiped besides God beleiving that worship will only be accepted by God if these intermediaries are worshipped. The pre islamic pagan arobs took idols as intermediaries, many examples still exist today and have existed in every era. * +
