So obsessed by the american media? Most of them have little knowledge of it yet you seem on here claiming to be experts on it,saying it hasn't covered this,it hasn't covered that or it won't cover something because it's all a conspiracy * +

I don't have much direct knowledge, rolling stone is the only american publication i regularly read but from checking out stories online I can see that the american media is very open minded overall, you have your right wing lunatics, likewise your left wing ones * +

Just like the uk media really.Always find it ironic that no one attacks countries like russia for it's media bias as in russia if a media outlet doesn't support putin it often gets closed down or its writers jailed * +

What confounds me is that Brits are usually wrong about their own country, and the media doesn't help. Examples being foreign aid making up 1.1 percent of expenditure, while people think it's just under a quarter. Another thing is rattling on about JSA, when pensions cost over 15 times more. * +

It's not one or the other, it's all mainstream media that have their own agendas and narratives that they want to push/suppress. That's why it's probably better to watch a broad selection and get all the differing views. Sky, CNN, BBC etc will be harder on Russia and China. RT, Al Jazeera etc will discuss things that western channels would never touch on. I try and watch all of them and make up my own mind. * +

1.1 percent doesn't sound a lot BUT by next yr that will equate to over 12 billion quid while the rest of us here at home struggle and face ever deepening cuts... and most of today's pensioners paid in most of their lives so d*mn right they should get more out than bone idle dole bums... * +

Nigeria has accepted more than 1billion in aid from Britain while losing twice that sum every year through corruption in its oil industry, it was revealed yesterday. Some 100,000 barrels of oil a day are being stolen from pipelines, ports and storage tanks with the connivance of politicians, officials and military top brass, says an authoritative report. It also points out that the aid to Nigeria may not be going to those who need it the most. * +
