i think in the past it was all a case of figures, convert as many as you can . Both muslim and christians converted african tribes in past and made allowances for certain cultural things thinking they could be eradicated later. but life just dont work that way * +

people tend to choose what part of their religion and culture to folllow as suits them. sometimes this works out sometimes it does not. from my point of view i find islam confusing due to the many cultural differences in just the middle east region alone. *
