We see and hear young people get married and devorced at the same time. In your religious belief, is this DIVORCE issue legitimate and acceptable and if so under what grounds does one DIVORCE his/her partner ? * +

Putting someone's faith aside there are plenty of moral legitimate reasons for divorce, adultery, abuse and neglect to name the top 3. No one in their right mind would stay married to a person who does not love them no matter what idiosyncratic religious preaching says * +

Allahs Messenger prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) said, The lawful thing which Allah hates most is divorce. This hadith goes to show that divorce is among the legal things that are Halal (fair) but it is not good. Its Halal because sometimes the situation is so complicated that a man is compelled to divorce, when it is reasonable and there is no way out.Divorce is not good because its a cause of enmity and also a cause of Satans delight. * +

In my irreligious disbelief, divorce is legitimate and acceptable. It's the couple's decision, anyway. But it must be maintained lawful and should not be used in abusive ways. * +
