There are wide variety of elements that define 'British culture' you can't just name one thing, that would be too reductionist... But I do agree with Shadow, traditions change, from what I have heard. Europe was predominantly Pagan and they had their own festivals and rituals then the Semitic religion 'Christianity' conquered over Europe bringing the 'Christian religious life' to it.. * +

Our relationship with each other n the country as a whole , i don't know if that's culture or identity or a mixture of the two , i don't think heavily skewed education helps either.

Multiculturalism simply causes division in society, and when there is no unity is when a nation falls. * +

To claim that Christianity defines the culture of Europe and Islam doesn't is plainly ridiculous, both are Semitic religion which have their roots tied to Middle-East... True European culture from what I think would be the Pagan religion, worshiping of nature and all... so since majority of people are Christians... they have pretty much abandoned their own true cultural roots, so yeah. * +

culture i would describe as common practice and beliefs of the adherants of a particular way of life, it doesnt just include the geographical location since we are all part of the same world and have some kind of influence on others around us.. Britain has a long history of different cultures contributing over the ages, foods, resources, teachings all came from distant cultures yet today we think of them as our own, such as the banana, coffee bean, they were foriegn to the uk yet they are now pa * +

part of the national diet, and religion too, as vamp said christianity is middle eastern yet many here adopted it.. * +

2 groups of chimpanzees from the same geographical location use different tools to do the same job. 1 uses wood the other rocks as hammer clubby bashy things. As both objects are available to both groups the use of only 1 which is learned behaviour and tradition can only be described as a cultural difference between the 2 groups. *
