Why would a God be egocentric? A common error is when people attribute human characteristics to an omnipotent human, which includes motives concerning the preoccupation with oneself, and not a god.

Is it an error or something observed in the scripture. Take the story of Job, is that how an omnipotent being behaves or is it how a fallible and imperfect human behaves? People will attribute human characteristics to you when you behave like a human.

It'd require a near dissertation to fully explain the book of Job, something I'm not motivated enough to do. In a nutshell, it shows that chaos exists in our somewhat secure world, the capacity for both good and bad. As is often the case, people blame God when things go awry, unlike Job. Job's wife and friends are critical of God and misunderstand, unlike Job. I wouldn't take it fundamentally. Besides, it's more a Jewish thing. * +

Takeing a step back and looking at the bigger picture , if your a beliver in the Abrahamic faiths , Christian , Jewish , Islam ...... Then god created a universe (a big one) ... (A really really big one) . Then he built heaven (size unknown) , then hell (size also not known) and then created a very small planet with a very small hand full of tiny creatures called man to live among a whole host of biomass ..... And the only reason he built man was ....... To appreciate him ????

yeah... and thats the reason some of them will find it hard to let go.. Their egos like that some higher being digs their praises. Similarly they can't eccept evolution because their egos don't like the fact that they are of animals... EGO * +
