I was in Barcelona these last couple of days and I'm always drawn to the Sagrada Familia, a Catholic Cathedral designed by Gaudi. It's unfinished, although work was begun 19 March 1882. It has some amazing stonework. I,ve posted some examples in my pics, but what is your view on depicting Christ in stonework. I don't mean in statues within a building, but on a building. * +

Ahh. Sir Antony Gaudi. Known as God's architect, he used organic forms as expressed in nature. He lived on that building site to make sure it was perfect and sadly passed away when he stepped back onto the road to have a look at the first tower being built and was h*t by a car. They buried him thinking he was a homeless man and later realized he was the architect. * +

The twelve towers represents the twelve deciples with the second larges tower representing mother mary and james respectively and the tower of Christ being the largest, designed to touch the heavens when seen from below. * +

Currently funded by donations mainly from the chinese. Imagine if it were completed during its period, it would of been the first 'sky scr*per' but as Gaudi said 'My client is not in a hurry'. Quality takes time and guadi's work has to be interpreted as art and sculpture. * +
